Social Media

At the Law Office of Robert W. Kovacs, Jr., we always advise that our clients refrain from posting about their legal matters online, but it may be prudent for our clients to refrain from any use of social media during the pendency of their case. This blog primarily is about family and divorce proceedings, however, this is sound advice for nearly every legal issue.

Social media posts, for example on Facebook or Twitter, are a way for many to vent their frustrations and many times to “get back out there” after being married. I would suggest that this temptation to use social media be avoided at all cost. What you think is no big deal may be valuable evidence for the other party to use against you during divorce proceedings. If you are unmarried and seeking child support or custody and you're posting about your lifestyle in general or even to talk negatively about the opposing party, it may hurt you.

Speak to Attorney Nick Carbone, he will get you the results that you're looking for in a family matter and steer you away from these traps!
