Polygamous Marriage in Massachusetts – When can I re-marry after my divorce?
Under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 207 § 4, if you marry another while still married the marriage is void.
In other words, if you get remarried while still married the new marriage never happened. This comes up most often when a party is in the process of a divorce and prior to the divorce being final they re-marry. Make sure if you are re-marrying shortly after a divorce that the divorce is final before the new marriage.
