Polygamous Marriage in Massachusetts – When can I re-marry after my divorce.
Under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 207 § 4, if you marry another while still married the marriage is void.
In other words, if you get re-marry while still married the new marriage never happened. This comes up most often when a party is in the process of a divorce and prior to the divorce being final they re-marry. Make sure if you are re-marrying shortly after a divorce that the divorce is final before the new marriage.
